The Environment

Returned cars move through several stages before they can be rented again, and each handoff is recorded by hand

A returned car goes through check-in, wash, fuel, and sometimes maintenance before it is back on the ready line. Each step is recorded on a handheld, a whiteboard, or not at all, so the number of cars ready to rent is only as accurate as the last update.

Cars get parked in the wrong row, sit in a stage longer than they should, or go out with an open fault code or a low tank. Without a record of each step, nobody can see which one slows turnaround down.

With RTS, every car's stage, location, and condition is shown live, from the return lane to the ready line, and every step is recorded for analysis.

Cars parked out of place

A car left in the wrong row or stall has to be found by walking the lot.

No time recorded per stage

Without a record of when each car entered each stage, cars held up in the wash or the maintenance bay are not noticed until someone looks.

No numbers on lot performance

Without returns counted and each stage timed, there is no way to see which step holds cars back or how turnaround changes over time.

Where RTS Comes In

The Fleet Operations Platform

vMonitor lists every car with its stage, stall, fuel, mileage, and fault codes. Select a car to see whether it is ready to rent, how long it has been in each stage, and where it is parked on the lot.

The Fleet Operations Platform

How the Platform Fits

Every car's stage and stall

See which stage each car is in (return lane, wash, fuel, maintenance, ready), which stall it is parked in, and how long it has been there. Cars over a stage's time limit are marked delayed.

Ready to rent, and why not

A car is listed as ready to rent when it is in a ready stall or aisle, has no open fault codes, and is not short on fuel. Any other car shows the reason: its current stage, needs maintenance, or short on fuel.

Faults and low fuel flagged before rental

Cars with an open fault code, and ready cars short on fuel, are flagged before they are rented.

Operational efficiency analytics

Returns per hour, the average time in each stage against its limit, and every car's stage history show where turnaround time goes.

Alerts by email and phone notification

A new fault code, or a rented car heading toward the border, sends an email and a phone notification to the staff who opted in. The alert links to the car on the map.
